Bio| PRESENTING:KYOU QIU THIS IS AN RP CHARACTER FOR GAKUIN HIGH Japanese name: Kyou Qiu 饗クィウ Chinese name: Cái Rèn Qiú 纔認賕 Nickname: Kyouuchi 饗うち She’s got a rather boyish figure – big shoulders, small hips, and a flat chest. Her hair is medium-length, reaching just below her shoulderblades, and black. It’s wavy, and she hates wearing it up. She’s pretty short, standing at a measly 5 foot. She weighs 90lbs, but wishes that she weighs more, and eats lots trying to gain weight but she never does. Outside of school she usually wears jeans and a tshirt. Sometimes, if she feels like it, she’ll wear shorts or a skirt, but more often than not she’s in jeans. She doesn’t mind if her clothes aren’t the latest fashion, or the most expensive. As long as she likes them then she’s happy. Two She’s very open-minded, and can’t bear to see people cry. When she did speak, she was ridiculed by the other children for the accent she gained from her parents. At the age of seven, her parents took her back to visit China, where she got to meet her grandparents and cousins. She didn’t get on well with her cousins, managing to enrage her cousin and get herself beaten pretty badly by him. He broke her wrist in two places. She tried to hide it, but as soon as her parents found out they took her straight back to Japan. However, they didn't realize her wrist had been broken and so they just wrapped a support bandage around it, causing it to heal oddly and still cause her trouble. Her parents had another child when she was 9, a girl who they named Yuuhi. At first Kyou was jealous of all the attention her sister was getting, but it was around then that she started to gain more independence because her parents were paying so much attention to Yuuhi. When she was 10, her cousin got stabbed to death in a fight with his ex-girlfriend, allowing her parents to take her back to China without fear of her being attacked again. During that visit, her grandfather died of a heart attack, leaving her grandmother heartbroken and her mother shaken Since then, she’s went to China alone every summer break. While there, she usually attends night classes to improve her Mandarin. By day, she helps her grandmother around the house and babysits for a family friend. She was accepted to a high-rank school back in Osaka, but her parents suddenly decided to move to Tokyo half way through the school year, for reasons unknown. Not too many schools would accept her so late into the year, so she was glad to find Gakuin High. She was raised to speak both Mandarin Chinese and Japanese, and still occasionally mixes the kanji meanings up. She has slight hearing problems, so she lipreads as much as she can. At home, she speaks to her parents in Mandarin, but to Yuuhi in Japanese. Nuan Zhang, 37 years old. Kind but strict. She now pays more attention to Yuuhi, being a firm believer that Kyou is old enough to take care of herself. She doesn’t get on too well with her own parents. She is unemployed, and spends her time being a housewife or giving private piano lessons. She’s currently three months pregnant. Father: Chen Qui, 40 years old. Chen is a chef in a Chinese restaurant, who spends most of his time at work or out with his workmates. He’s not very strict, but he worries about Kyou lots. He has a good relationship with Kyou, but not so much with Yuuhi Little sister: Yuuhi Qui, 6 years old. Yuuhi is a chatterbox and a real girly-girl. She loves to wear skirts and twirl around like a princess. She has many friends and a vivacious personality. She’s very boy-crazy and wants to grow up and marry a rich prince. Sometimes her cheery demeanor gets on Kyou’s nerves, but Kyou loves her to pieces and is fiercely protective of her. She prefers the company of her mother and frequently ignores her father. Grandmother: Li Min Zhang, 76. Lives in China, and loves to spending time with her oldest granddaughter. She can’t get out very much, but always sends Kyou a letter at least once a month. She’s a very traditional lady who belives in family values and honor. Her parents don’t have the best relationship in the world, and several cracks are starting to show. Often, Kyou hears them arguing late at night. Her ex-girlfriend and her were together while she was in China last summer. They then made the decision to split up because a long-distance relationship was too hard, and Xuixui wasn’t really attracted to her, she never had been and was simply curious about what it would be like to date a girl. They’d had sex a few times. Kyou was pretty hurt, and felt used for a little while until she got over it. She’s never mentioned this to anyone, since it greatly worries her that people will be disgusted or ashamed of her. She often pretends to find boys attractive, to fend off any awkward questions. Currently she’s not attracted to anyone, but would love to be in a relationship again. People tend think that Kyou’s a nobody, a little shy doll that has no opinions. It seems that she’s a teacher’s pet, an overly polite and distant girl.
